I'm So Embarrassed

So, the company Christmas party was yesterday. It was fun for the most part, the food was tasty and I enjoyed the people that I sat with. But, something happened and it was dreadful. And this dreadful thing that I've hated with a fiery passion since childhood and avoided at all cost is...

I was asked to stand up and speak in front of people. There was a chance to win prizes, which in all honesty, I was not interested in unless those prizes were an iPad or gift card to the Apple store. And way my boss would randomly choose a bonus check and whoever was called had to go to the front and answer questions about the attorneys. I don't know anything about anyone, I put my headphone on when I get to work and basically don't take them off until I go home.

So, my question was "Who made the most points this year on our company basketball team?" I just found out we had a team, like three months ago, so I have no idea who is on the team, who they play against, where they play...I'm oblivious. Obviously, I didn't get the question right, so I didn't get one of the main prizes, but I got a $10 gift card to Leroy Selmons, which is super tasty (they have in house made sweet potato fries.)

At the end of the day I didn't like being forced to participate in a room filled with 100 people. Not, my idea of a good time, especially when you're socially awkward like myself. I'm so embarrassed.
